Nuno Fazenda

Assistant Professor (Adjunct)

Holds a PhD from Instituto Superior Técnico in Regional and Urban Planning, a Masters' degree from Universidade de Aveiro in Management and Environmental Policy and an undergraduate degree in Tourism from Universidade de Algarve, having completed his 2nd curricular year at the University of Wales, in Cardiff. 

At CCDRN, as the Expert Coordinator, he was responsible for the Northern Portugal Tourism Action Plan, and was the technical coordinator of the 2007-2013 Douro Valley Tourism Development Plan. At Turismo de Portugal, he was the Director of the Department of Management of Community Programs (2014-2019) and was responsible for coordinating the national tourism strategy - Tourism Strategy 2027-, as well as the areas of regional development and of community program management. In this context, he was also responsible for the management of the Support Line for the Tourism Development of the Countryside. Additionally, he was a non-executive member of the Board of Directors of the Côa Parque Foundation. 

Currently, and within the context of the XIV legislature, he is a member of the Parliament of the Portuguese Republic, taking part in the parliamentary committees of Economy, Innovation, Public Construction and Housing and Education, Science, Youth and Sport. 

He is an international expert at the World Center for Destination Excellence and an Invited Professor at Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
