In 2008 CATÓLICA-LISBON became the first Portuguese Business School member of the elite group of schools holding the coveted Triple Crown status.

This exceptional achievement means that CATÓLICA-LISBON is among the top 1% of Business Schools worldwide to be accredited by the three most prestigious management education accreditation agencies:

The three accreditations certify that CATÓLICA-LISBON programs are of the highest quality and in line with the most stringent international standards. The degrees granted by CATÓLICA-LISBON thus attained new and greater value in terms of national and international recognition.

CATÓLICA-LISBON was the first Portuguese Business School to be included in the Financial Times rankings. Belonging to the restricted group of Business Schools accepted in the rankings of the Financial Times, is a recognition of the outstanding quality of CATÓLICA-LISBON students and the excellence of the school’s teaching, research and service.

CATÓLICA-LISBON has been consistently ranked at the Top Business Schools in Portugal by the Financial Times since 2008, and was ranked #28 in the most recent European rankings. This FT European Business School Ranking, being based on the combined performance of the schools across the five most important FT rankings (MBA, Executive MBA, Masters in Management, Open Executive Education programs and Custom Executive Education programs), is an assessment of the global quality of the school.

In 2017, CATÓLICA-LISBON Executive Education programs were, for the 11th consecutive year, ranked among the Top 50 worldwide. This achievement consolidates the position of the school as the Top Portuguese and one of the Top 20 European Schools in Executive Education. 


CFA® Institute

In October 2008, the CFA® Institute, the global association for investment professionals that awards the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation, named CATÓLICA-LISBON as its first University Program Partner in Portugal. This notable achievement reflects our strong reputation in teaching and research. The CFA® Institute uses the CFA® University Affiliation Program designation to recognize Finance degree programs that are academically rigorous and closely aligned to professional practice. The CFA® Program sets a globally recognized standard in competence and integrity for financial analysts, portfolio managers, investment consultant and other Finance professionals.

This partnership certifies the alignment between the curriculum of the Master in Finance program at CATÓLICA-LISBON and the curriculum of the Body of Knowledge CFA® Program, confirming that its courses cover the learning objectives needed to successfully meet the requirements of the CFA® qualification exams.

The structure of the CATÓLICA-LISBON’s Master in Finance puts all its students completing the program in an advantageous position compared to others when it comes to starting their professional career in the finance industry or seeking to secure their professional status with a CFA® qualification.
