Our credentials are achieved through a successful combination of world-class students and faculty, strong curricula, innovative applied-learning projects, partnerships with prestigious Business Schools worldwide and a close connection with the corporate world.
At the beginning of 2008, CATÓLICA-LISBON became the first Portuguese Business School member of the elite group of business schools holding the coveted Triple Crown status.
This exceptional achievement means that CATÓLICA-LISBON is now among the top 1% of business schools worldwide to be accredited by all three management education associations:
- Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)
- European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD)
- Association for MBA's (AMBA)
The US-based Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business is the oldest quality assurance body in management education and their accreditation is the international hallmark of excellence.
The three accreditations allow CATÓLICA-LISBON to provide programs of the highest quality in line with the most stringent international standards. The degrees granted by CATÓLICA-LISBON thus attained new and greater value in terms of national and international recognition.
The Triple Crown status also enhances CATÓLICA-LISBON's capacity to attract and retain some of the brightest minds and most coveted global partners, and ensures it will play an even greater role in defining the international corporate agenda.
CATÓLICA-LISBON is ranked among Europe's Top Business Schools.
This ranking is one of the seven rankings published annually by The Financial Times. The Financial Times rankings list the best management programs available (Global MBA, Executive MBA, Masters in Finance, Masters in Management, online MBA programs and non-degree executive education programs) as well as the top European Business Schools.
These rankings compiled by one of the world’s leading business news and information organizations utilize several evaluation criteria. For example, to be eligible to participate, a school should be accredited by AACSB or Equis. A school must also have a program that has been running for at least four years, and it must have graduated its first class of students at least three years before the ranking publication date. Besides these requirements, other factors are taken into consideration such as the salary that the students were able to earn three years after completing their graduation/program, etc.
CATÓLICA-LISBON was the first Portuguese Business School to be included in The Financial Times rankings. Belonging to the restricted group of business schools selected by The Financial Times is recognition of the outstanding quality of the CATÓLICA-LISBON students and the exceptional work that has been done on all the programs.
Besides consistently being ranked the Best Business School in Portugal by The Financial Times since 2007, CATÓLICA-LISBON is currently the only Portuguese Business School in the prestigious Financial Times global ranking for Executive Education, where it is one of the top 20 in the European Union and one of the top 50 in the world.
In October 2008, the CFA® Institute, the global association for investment professionals that awards the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation, named CATÓLICA-LISBON as its first University Program Partner in Portugal.
