Our world is constantly changing, with significant and abrupt shifts in consumer preferences, technological possibilities, regulations, social and demographic patterns, and even public health conditions, for example. Successfully responding to these shocks, sometimes unprecedented, represents a huge but crucial challenge for companies and their managers, even for the best of the best. Companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Netflix, Nvidia, and Apple have been able to do so at certain times. At the same time, other giants like Nokia, Research in Motion/Blackberry, Sears, GE, and Dean Foods have failed. In fact, successful companies facing certain shocks have failed in others.
Strategic management is the domain of Management par excellence that can provide the best explanations for a deep understanding of these fundamental phenomena. In order to be properly prepared for this changing world, companies must equip themselves with as many executives as possible with solid and up-to-date knowledge of strategic management.
The GE program aims precisely to provide its participants with a deep and practical understanding (that is, what they are and how they apply) of the most advanced theories, frameworks, and models for creating value for changing external contexts. This objective is ensured by the characteristics of the program's Director and lecturer, included in the world's top scientists list compiled by Stanford University, author of a new and revolutionary theory on strategic responses to unprecedented exogenous shocks, just published in the Academy of Management Review (the most reputable scientific publication in Management theory in the world), and, over many years, Director and lecturer of dozens of Executive programs with a high degree of participant satisfaction.
GE is not only science-based but also action-oriented. Its innovative format synthesizes the state-of-the-art of strategic management, which is immediately and week by week transposed into practice through the discussion of notable international cases, specifically constructed by the lecturer for these subjects, and the use (for about half of the course duration) of a sophisticated and realistic value creation simulator, in which groups of participants compete against each other through successive analyses and decisions throughout the program.
Thus, GE provides step-by-step, class by class, a unique (simultaneously deep and fun) learning experience of the new paths of Management and Strategy, from determining the company's overall future direction to determining the necessary contribution of each functional area of Management (from Marketing to Operations Management, from Finance to Human Resources Management) to value creation. Be one more to benefit from this unique and precious experience!
The GE is intended for all those who currently hold or aspire to hold positions in the management of departments, business units, or companies, which require a good ability to understand the company's problems from a holistic and integrated perspective, as well as a deep understanding of value creation mechanisms in changing external contexts. Preferred factors include the level of management experience and the degree of academic education.
