René Bohnsack, PhD, é Professor Associado de Estratégia e Inovação na CATÓLICA-LISBON. René Bohnsack investiga a difusão de tecnologias e como os modelos de negócio podem acelerar a difusão. O seu trabalho já foi publicado nas melhores revistas científicas internacionais dedicadas à gestão e à inovação (Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management Studies, California Management Review, Research Policy, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Technovation, Technological Forecasting & Social Change, etc.), e já apresentou a sua investigação nas principais conferências internacionais, tendo recebido o Best Paper Award da Academy of Management ONE Division 2019, o Best Paper Award em Empreendedorismo Sustentável em 2016, e o 3.º prémio para melhor artigo de gestão de inovação em 2013. A investigação atual de René Bohnsack foca-se em modelos de negócio, na transformação digital das indústrias e no papel do design dos mercados internacionais nos modelos de negócio. Partilhou os resultados da sua investigação numa TEDx talk aclamada em 2019

René Bohnsack é o fundador e diretor do Smart City Innovation Lab (SCIL) e do Business Model Design Lab (BMDL), equipas multidisciplinares que trabalham em investigação de vanguarda no âmbito da inovação de modelos de negócio e ensino de modelos de negócio. A investigação do grupo foca-se nos modelos de negócio digitais, sustentáveis e internacionais, e na aplicação da Inteligência Artificial na inovação de modelos de negócio. Os laboratórios empregam atualmente seis investigadores que, sob a orientação de René, são parceiros em três projetos significativos de I&D relacionados com modelos de negócio para iniciativas digitais com múltiplos stakeholders. Além disto, René Bohnsack faz consultoria com empresas sobre temas estratégicos relacionados com modelos de negócio, digitalização e internacionalização. O SCIL e o BMDL colaboram com mais de 40 empresas por toda a Europa. René e a equipa do BMDL também criaram a plataforma premiada Venturely, uma plataforma única para a criação de modelos de negócio.
