Isabel Jonet was born in Lisbon, in 1960. Married, with five children, she also holds a degree in Economics from CATÓLICA-LISBON (1982).
She works in the Food Bank since 1993, where she helped create the Portuguese network of Food Banks, that distribute food aid (actually 2.600 charities that help feeding 400.000 people in need). Since 2003, she is the president of the Portuguese Federation of Food Banks and between 2012 and 2017 she was also the President of the European Federation of Food Banks (FEBA) and currently still maintains a position as a member of the Board of Directors.
Founder and President of ENTRAJUDA (2004), an innovative project born with the mission of creating capacity building in the social sector. This institution seeks to educate non-profits in management and organization and to mobilize civic society to respond to several needs perceived within other social welfare institutions. These institutions, managed from the heart, can be more effective in serving their beneficiaries, if provided with the right instruments and resources. Under ENTRAJUDA, Isabel developed several projects and launched the Volunteer Exchange, the Bank of Given Goods, and the Bank of Equipment.
