Ph.D. in Management with a specialization in marketing and consumer behavior from Nova SBE, MS in textile marketing from Thomas Jefferson/ Philadelphia University,and a BS (Hons) in textile technology from De Montfort University, UK.
Vera Herédia Colaço is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics, Universidade Católica Portuguesa. She teaches graduate and undergraduate courses and executive education in management and marketing. She is the Executive Director of the Executive Bachelor in Commercial and Retail Management, the first online undergraduate executive degree offered by CATÓLICA-LISBON.
She is also a researcher at Católica Lisbon’s Business and Economics Research Unit (CUBE). Her main research interests include sustainable consumption, ethical decision-making, and purpose-driven business and consumption.
Before joining academia, Vera worked in the textiles, apparel, and fashion industry for more than 15 years and has solid international experience working with organizations and brands such as Timberland, Trussardi, the Trade Commission of Portugal in NYC, and Lisboa Fashion Week. She has also partnered with the Manifesto Moda company to develop health-related protective clothing solutions to prevent diseases like Malaria, Zika, and Dengue. She was distinguished with a grant from the US State Department in 2015 to present this innovative project at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Kenya.
Vera is also a frequent presenter at academic and business conferences and has a strong track record in establishing university-industry partnerships with companies such as the Aga Khan Foundation, Fundação Oceano Azul, McDonald’s, National Geographic, and Starbucks.
