Pedro Duarte Neves holds a PhD in Economics from Université Catholique de Louvain (1991). He is Advisor of the Board at Banco de Portugal, Associate at the Systemic Risk Centre (at London School of Economics), Affiliated Fellow with the Qatar Centre for Global Banking and Finance (King’s College London), and a member of the Advisory Board of the European Banking Institute. He was Vice-Governor of Banco de Portugal, Alternate Chairperson of the European Banking Authority, Chairman of the Portuguese Deposit Guarantee Fund, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of ANACOM. He has chaired a number of EU committees (at the FSB, EBA, and the Joint Committee of the ESAs). He published in scientific journals like The Journal of Econometrics, Economics Letters, and Economic Modelling. Pedro got his undergraduate degree in Economics at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (1983).
