Know your budget
When choosing your destination, be sure to make a realistic budget overview of all the costs associated with your international mobility. The cost of your mobility program will depend on several factors, such as:
- Fees at CATÓLICA-LISBON (during the international mobility period);
- Fees at the Host University (if applicable);
- Living costs at the chosen destination(s).
To assist with the costs associated with going abroad, students may consider researching possible grants and scholarships available*.
- Erasmus+ Grant: is a contribution to the costs of travel and subsistence during the mobility period. All students allocated to study in Erasmus+ participant countries are invited to apply**.
- Other scholarships and grants: some governments, embassies, companies or public/private institutions may have funds to sponsor international students. More information is available at our Partner Universities’ Factsheets, when applicable.
*As their attribution may not be guaranteed, do not calculate receiving grants or scholarships within your budget overview. If these end up being attributed, see them as an extra income.
**Free-Mover students are not eligible to apply for the Erasmus+ Grant, even if the Host University is located in a participant country of the Erasmus+ Program.
Students are responsible for all the costs associated with their international mobility program. We strongly advise you to research this information prior to the application period.
Students who are committed to studying abroad are advised to plan their mobility early and wisely. Further information and guidance are available on our internal website or by reaching out to the International Office team at outgoing.clsbe@ucp.
