On World Happiness Day, the most recent data from the Portuguese Society Observatory (OSP) reveal that 2025 recorded the highest levels of happiness and satisfaction since monitoring began in 2015.

According to the study conducted by the Behavioral Insights Unit, 71% of Portuguese people say they feel happy and 73.4% are satisfied with their lives, numbers that represent the highest point in the entire historical series, clearly surpassing pre-pandemic levels.

The report also shows that the Portuguese maintain a very positive assessment of their quality of life, with 94.9% of participants rating it as good, very good, or excellent, and 77.5% considering their health positive.

These results underline the resilience of Portuguese society, which continues to strengthen subjective well-being despite the persistent challenges in the areas of health, housing, and outlook for the future.

On World Happiness Day, the OSP reinforces its commitment to continue to closely monitor the evolution of well-being in Portugal.
