Dear members of the CATÓLICA-LISBON community,
This week we received excellent news, validating the quality, reputation and impact of our School.
On Monday, the FT Rankings of the Top 90 European Business Schools were released and we improved one place to 31st best school in Europe, with strong positions in all areas of this aggregate ranking (Msc in Management, Executive Education, Lisbon MBA). In addition, we are the top tier European school with the highest percentage of female faculty and one of those with most international faculty. Moreover, we are the 22nd best in Europe in offering our corporate partners a powerful executive education experience. These excellent results are due to our strong commitment to international excellence that started more than 15 years ago and we are now planning for our development in the next 15 years.
This Thursday, we announce a truly excellent news for our future development. The Family and Group José de Mello pledged a donation of 12 Million euros to UCP to support the construction of our new academic building, which will start in 2021. This is the largest donation ever in Portugal to a higher education institution. Our new building will receive the name “Edifício José Manuel de Mello” as a tribute to a great business leader from one of the most important business families in Portugal, who shares our values and aspiration for impact.
Our new building will more than double our current physical capacity, giving us the modern and interactive facilities that we need to take our world-class faculty and quality teaching to the next level, creating an even more memorable learning experience. Our purpose is to be a School that contributes to a more prosperous world by developing responsible leaders, impactful managers and innovative entrepreneurs, while promoting sustainable business practices.
Thank you for your dedication to CATÓLICA-LISBON,
Filipe Santos, Dean of CATÓLICA-LISBON.
