NTT DATA Portugal and CATÓLICA-LISBON | Executives will host, on October 14 at 6:00 p.m., the conference “Innovation and Transformation in Insurance Companies in Portugal: Stakeholders’ Vision of the Sector.”

This initiative will bring together representatives of industry associations, experts, and regulators to discuss the opportunities and challenges posed by the application of Artificial Intelligence in the insurance industry.
The event will take place in Auditorium 511 at CATÓLICA-LISBON and is open to the general public upon registration.
 
Now in its second edition, the event is part of the executive education program “Innovation and Transformation in Insurance” and aims to strengthen dialogue between academia and the market on how new technologies, innovation, and regulation are shaping the sector’s competitiveness.
The keynote address will be delivered by Gabriel Bernardino, President of the Portuguese Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Authority (ASF). This will be one of his first public appearances as head of the regulator, lending particular significance to the event.
 
The conference will also feature a presentation titled “How AI Can Help the Insurance Sector – Use Case Presentation” by Nuno Costal, Strategic Value Principal Director at NTT DATA Portugal, followed by a roundtable discussion with key insurance stakeholders, including:
 
José Galamba de Oliveira, President of the Portuguese Association of Insurers (APS)
 
Nuno Martins, President of the National Association of Insurance Agents and Brokers (APROSE)
 
João Freire de Andrade, President of Portugal Fintech
 
Miriam Nicolau da Costa, President of the Insurtech Fintech Portugal Forum (FIF)
 
The session will be moderated by Paulo Bracons (CATÓLICA-LISBON) and Nuno Albuquerque e Castro, Partner & Head of Insurance at NTT DATA Portugal.
 
The event will close with an open talk by Gabriel Bernardino, sharing his insights on the challenges of regulation and technological innovation in the sector.
