With less than five years remaining to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and with around 80% of the targets delayed, it is urgent to reflect on the legacy of the 2030 Agenda. Under this premise, CATÓLICA-LISBON, through its Center for Responsible Business and Leadership, is launching a series of three webinars in partnership with the Sustainable Development Solutions Network Portugal. The aim is to identify priorities for the next phase of sustainable development and to strategically envision the construction of a more prosperous, inclusive, and resilient future.
The first webinar, titled “What Comes After 2030? Thinking about the Future of the SDGs,” will take place this Thursday, July 10th, at 12:00 PM, and marks the beginning of a broader initiative aimed at actively contributing to the design of the next global agenda for sustainability and social prosperity.
Confirmed speakers include John Thwaites, Professor at Monash University and Chair of both the Monash Sustainable Development Institute and the Climateworks Centre; María Cortés Puch, Vice-President of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network; and Maximilian Schnippering, Head of Sustainability at Siemens Gamesa. Together, they will discuss the next phase of sustainable development beyond the 2030 Agenda, both in academia and in the corporate sector.
The event is aimed at business leaders, policymakers, academics, and civil society, and will feature a 45-minute open discussion with participants to encourage critical dialogue and active engagement.
Registration is open to the public and can be done here.
