Cybersecurity: Real-Time Risk Management

The “Cybersecurity for Business” program was jointly developed by CATÓLICA-LISBON and TÉCNICO+ with the goal of providing an integrated view of the risks associated with Information Technologies and the management practices required to protect organizations.

The program addresses both the technological and human components of cybersecurity, with a particular focus on system vulnerabilities and how to mitigate them. It identifies key risks and the resources needed to manage them, promoting an integrated governance perspective with special attention to people.

The program concludes with the development of a cybersecurity protection plan and a practical decision-making exercise under pressure in an attack scenario, allowing participants to consolidate the knowledge acquired.

The Importance of Cybersecurity in Organizations

The growing dependence of organizations and individuals on digital systems has significantly increased exposure to cyberattacks. The internet has become the main channel for work, communication, and information sharing, making security a critical factor.

Recent examples highlight this reality: from targeted attacks on international organizations to major corporations, with impacts ranging from financial losses to reputational damage and ransom demands that can reach millions of euros.

Who Should Attend This Program:

• Information systems managers.

• Business executives and managers.

• Data protection officers.

• Legal professionals.

What Makes This Program Transformational:

• Understanding of information system vulnerabilities and the critical role of the human factor.

• Exposure to attack culture and key cybersecurity defense technologies.

• Ability to manage risks and respond to crises in real time.

• Knowledge of best practices in cybersecurity governance.

• Development of an effective cybersecurity protection plan.

Program Structure

Discover the learning modules and unlock your full potential.

keyboard_arrow_up Cybersecurity Governance
This module addresses the fundamental aspects of information security management, incorporating best practices within a holistic cybersecurity management framework. The module concludes with a demonstrative exercise simulating an incident and its management.
keyboard_arrow_up Current Information and Communication Technologies
This module introduces the main current Information and Communication Technologies, enabling participants to understand cybersecurity issues and solutions: vulnerabilities, technological protections, and processes. Potential targets of attacks—both systems and data, will be highlighted.
keyboard_arrow_up What You Need to Know About Cybersecurity
This module defines what cybersecurity is and covers key concepts such as security properties, vulnerability, attack, and threat. It addresses both technical and human vulnerabilities, as well as the main current types of threats.
keyboard_arrow_up Practical Cybersecurity Mechanisms for Managers
This module presents the technological mechanisms that protect against cyberattacks. While not implemented directly by managers, understanding these mechanisms is essential, as they are critical components of a robust security solution.
keyboard_arrow_up How to Manage Cybersecurity Proactively
This module provides the foundational measures organizations must take to mitigate the risk of cyberattacks and prepare appropriate response strategies.
keyboard_arrow_up How to Build Your Cybersecurity Plan
The final module offers participants the necessary tools and insights to begin structuring their organization’s Cybersecurity Plan.
