According to corporate finance theory, maximization of shareholder wealth is the ultimate objective that a firm’s management should pursue. For the accomplishment of this task, management need to identify, undertake and monitor value-creating capital investment projects, and identify, secure and manage the capital needed for their implementation. The former requires knowledge about investment decisions, the latter about financing decisions.
