The “BlockChain and SmartContracts” program was developed through a partnership between CATÓLICA-LISBON and TÉCNICO+, with the goal to promote a deep, complete, and most of all applied perspective of these subjects. This 21 hour long program is divided into two parts, one for each school’s expertise.
The first part is taught by Técnico +, introducing and deepening the details regarding the different components of this emergent and very important technology. Secondly, CATÓLICA-LISBON, through the use cases as well as the way to develop business strategies, aims to have the potential to definitively transform the competitive environment in multiple sectors.

This program is aimed at managers from any sector that face the challenges in digital transformation with DLT technologies such as BlockChain and which need to understand the theme in order to take part in the strategic decision making. In particular:
Know what Blockchain, Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), and web3 are;
Understand the most important technological details of Blockchain, DLT, and web3;
Comprehend the advantages and opportunities of using Smart Contracts for digital transformation;
Know the various participants involved in building the current distributed ecosystem;
Understand the concept of tokenization and how it can be leveraged by organizations;
Learn and know how to use the main tools for analysis and strategic planning in a competitive environment within ecosystems.
Understand how to design business models with web3 and tokenization and test their competitive viability;
Understand what fungible and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are and how they can be used in both the regulated and unregulated economy;
Know what Smart Contracts are and their potential to change the competitive environment;
Be aware of the limitations and what should be avoided when implementing Blockchains and DLTs;
Understand the challenges and legal framework of these technologies;
Become familiar with the main use cases of web3 and tokenization across different sectors;
