Fernando S. Machado holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Reading, UK, and undergraduate degrees in Economics and in Business Administration from UCP.  He teaches in Católica-Lisbon’s master’s programs and executive education. His current research interests revolve around digital piracy, innovative pricing mechanisms and the analysis of consumer preferences for both market and non-market goods. Formerly he was dean of faculty, director of CATÓLICA-LISBON’s research unit (CUBE), senior associate dean for academic affairs, academic director of the master programs in management, director of the Center for Applied Studies and member of the board of directors of the Center for Public Opinion Studies (CESOP).
