Financial Accounting

The course aims to introduce students to financial accounting. It is primarily intended for students with no previous exposure to accounting. Financial accounting is the language of business and thus essential to understand the business underlying economic events. The course adopts a preparer/decision - maker perspective of accounting and aims to provide students with the necessary knowledge to prepare and analyse the financial statements and assess the impact of the different accounting options on the financial reporting. Knowledge of financial accounting is important for future auditors, consultants, accountants and managers, within others.
