Critical Thinking in Management 2016/2017

3.5 ECTs / Trimester / English

This course intends to open a provocative debate about critical thinking in management. Instead of discussing traditional cases in traditional (almost standardized) ways, Critical Thinking in Management will propose provocative discussions about problems that will concern your professional (and personal) life in the next decades.

Some questions this course will open to participants are:

  • How can we deal with cultural diversity and learn from it every day?
  • Is self-control so important and how is it possible to improve it?
  • What is the political economy of stupidity?
  • Why being humble is so important?
  • And why arrogance is so dangerous for individuals and organizations?
  • What does it mean resilience and character in the managerial profession?
  • How is possible to control peer pressure and leverage it?
  • How can we frame professional development within the much more important and broader issue of integral development?
